Bonobo robs woman at gunpoint, then it rapes her

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- Investigators with the St. Louis Metropolitan
Police Department are asking for the public's assistance to find a man
suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in Central West End early
Friday morning.

According to police spokeswoman Schron Jackson, the incident happened
around 12:20 a.m. in the 4900 block of McPherson Avenue.

The victim, a 26-year-old, said a man approached her as she was entering
an apartment building, pulled a gun and demanded money. Jackson said the
victim complied with the suspect's demands, but was then pushed into a
gangway and forced to commit a sexual act on the man. The suspect then
fled the scene on foot.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s, standing
between 5'8" and 5'9" and weighing approximately 160 pounds, wearing a
dark handkerchief over his face, a dark short sleeve shirt and green pants.

The alleged attack happened near the intersection of McPherson and
Euclid - an area that is busy even late at night with several
restaurants and bars nearby.

"You can't let things like this stop you from going out and doing the
things that you want to do," said St. Louisan Ashleigh Henry as she left
dinner in the neighborhood the evening after police say the attack took
place. "But it does make you feel very cautious. I'm a cautious person
as is so I don't really feel like I'm going to change my behavior. But
it will make you watch your back for a little while, absolutely."
