(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - In the case of a Miami-area woman, beauty really
does come at a price.
Maria Elizabeth Chrysson has been dubbed the "Botox Bandit" after she failed
to pay for more than
$4,000 worth of cosmetic treatments.

According to the Sun-Sentinel.com , the 29-year-old was having money
problems but that didn't
stop her from writing checks for services she couldn't afford – they later
bounced back in
February.

"We were in the process of making restitution when the arrest occurred,"
said Chrysson's lawyer,
Daniel Lurvey. "We will continue to attempt to resolve the matter of the
alleged victim."

Earlier this week the brunette was worried about her mug shot, since she was
"having a bad hair
day," when she was nabbed at the Latin Cafe restaurant in Miami Beach.

Chrysson has been charged with three counts of grand theft and one count of
scheming to defraud.

Concerned more with appearances than the seriousness of the charges against
her, the woman asked
police if she could log on to her Facebook account to see if people knew she
was arrested – they
declined.

Miami police spokesman Napier Velazquez told AOL News : "She likes the
attention, apparently."

Meanwhile, the Floridian is also being investigated in a similar case where
a woman walked out of
a plastic surgery center in Fort Lauderdale without putting up the cash to
cover a $3,300 bill
for 50 Botox treatments without anesthetic and other procedures on July 23.
